The Jerusalem scholar, who has already been awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, receives this award from the HfJS Heidelberg for his outstanding academic achievements and fundamental work on Jewish social and intellectual history, the relationship between Jews and Christians in the past and present and the development of Israeli-German academic relations.
