Film screening: The Rhine flows into the Mediterranean

Film Screening

No, this is not déjà vu - "The Rhine flows into the Mediterranean" is actually being shown at the zwinger Theater in Heidelberg. And once again, Offer Avnon is so generous with his time that he will be available for a discussion after the film. And again, this will be moderated by Dr. Silvia Richter, who agreed to be a substitute professor at the HfJS, but has since returned to the University of Frankfurt as project coordinator in the research network "Dynamics of the Religious".

Why are we doing this? Because we think that shades of gray are missing. Because we believe that there is currently a lack of empathy across the board. And because it is important to show that everyone must and should form their own opinion.

The film opens up space for people's own questions, thoughts and feelings, without forcing them into a corset of preconceived guilt, morality and finger-wagging.

Offer Avnon lets people speak, contemporary witnesses and young people from Israel, Poland and Germany.

The film is certainly of educational value, but above all we would like to recommend it for its empathy and lack of judgment or condemnation, for its gentle human approach to the participants and for its constant invitation to listen to oneself and search for answers within oneself.
