Light a candle on Hanukkah

Jewish Holiday

Hanukkah will be celebrated this year from the evening of December 25, 2024 until January 2, 2025. (According to the Hebrew calendar, the festival begins on the eve of the 25th of Kislev)

Every day at nightfall, a new light is lit on the Hanukkia. Jews celebrate the victory of the Maccabees over Greek-Syrian foreign rule in 164 BC and the rededication of the Jerusalem Temple with this festival of lights.

The Jewish community of Heidelberg invites you to light the second candle on December 26.

It will be lit at the Hanukkia in front of the synagogue at Häusserstraße 10.
