Equality and Cooperative Behavior

Our commitment

We are committed to fair and respectful cooperation in the academic world - regardless of gender or gender identity.

Our main goal is to promote equal opportunities for women and men and to reduce existing inequalities. To this end, we work at all levels of the university to identify and eliminate disadvantages.

In addition, it is important to us to create a university community based on appreciation and participation - for everyone. In close cooperation with Unify andthe Office for Equal Opportunities Heidelberg, we are committed to progressive equality.

With this in mind, the Gender Equality Plan and the Senate Directive on Cooperative Conduct were adopted in March 2025.

Our offer - We support you with

  • Questions regarding the advancement of women in academia (e.g. applications, appointments, recruitment, qualifications)

  • Cases of discrimination, sexualized harassment or challenges in your studies and work environment

  • Concerns relating to the topic of gender identity

  • the search for information on gender issues

Our aim is to encourage you to live your individuality freely and to realize your full potential in the academic environment.
