Amount of the Fee

Since the summer semester 2007, the Heidelberg University of Jewish Studies has been charging a fee for guest auditor studies in accordance with §§ 2, 17 LHGebG in the version of January 1, 2005. The fees are staggered as follows:

  • up to 4 lecture hours per week EUR 51.00
  • up to 6 lecture hours per week EUR 76.00
  • from 7 lecture hours per week EUR 102.00

Upon application, the guest auditor fee can be reduced to EUR 26.00 if the applicant receives assistance with living expenses or assistance in special circumstances. This must be proven by suitable evidence (notification or certificate from the granting authority).

There is no guest auditor fee for students of Heidelberg University.

Guest students of Heidelberg University must pay the above-mentioned guest student fee at the Heidelberg University of Jewish Studies in addition to the fee charged by Heidelberg University.

Course Selection

  • Guest auditors are entitled to attend all lectures.
  • All other courses (seminars, practicals, exercises, language courses, etc.) can only be attended with the written permission of the lecturer concerned. The decision on the admission of guest auditors to a particular course lies with the lecturer.
  • In accordance with Section 64 (LHG), guest auditors may not be admitted to examinations.
  • IMPORTANT: Participation in courses does not entitle you to an examination, nor can certificates of participation or achievement be issued. Study achievements acquired as a guest auditor will not be recognized in the context of a later degree course.

Application Procedure and Payment of the Fee

Please fill out the form "Guest auditor application" completely. You can obtain the application form from the Student Secretariat (Room N1 -01, Mon-Fri, 10.00-13.00). It is also available for download here.

Please submit the completed guest auditor application form, including any necessary written permission from teaching staff, to the service desk in the library (Mon-Thu, 11.00 to 13.00 and 15.00 to 16.00) and pay the guest auditor fee there using your CampusCard. You can also transfer the guest auditor fee to the HfJS bank account, IBAN: DE19 6725 0020 0001 3097 49 (please state "Guest auditor fee, first name, surname" as the reason for payment). After paying the guest auditor fee, you can hand in the guest auditor application form at the Student Secretariat (Room N1 -01, Mon-Fri, 10.00-13.00) and receive your guest auditor certificate there.

The guest auditor fee is due upon admission to the courses, but no earlier than 01.04. for the summer semester and 01.10. for the winter semester.
