An 'asocial' Palatinate family. How a social case was turned into a moral inferiority during the Nazi era

Book Presentation

The author Alfons L. Ims is the youngest member of the affected family generation and traces their fate in a unique study. He describes how the family became a welfare case during the economically difficult times of the Weimar Republic. It undergoes a dramatic development when the National Socialists come to power. Due to their social situation and the father's previous political activities, part of the meagre state support was withdrawn from the family.

Together with his wife, Alfons Ims not only presents his book, but also embeds the results of his research in the political conditions prevailing at the time. Afterwards, the audience is invited to a discussion.

In cooperation with the Karlstorkino / medienforum e. V., the Volkshochschule Edingen-Neckarhausen and the Montpellier-Haus.

Supported by the City of Heidelberg, Office for Equal Opportunities and Mosaik Deutschland e.V. as part of the federal programme "Demokratie leben!" of the Federal Ministry for Families, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.
