The Latin American Jewish Studies Association (LAJSA) invites to participate in its 22nd International Research Conference, to be held in person on July 7–9, 2027, at the UTE university in Quito, Ecuador.
Every two years LAJSA holds its International Research Conference to bring together scholars from multiple disciplines and geographical regions whose work focuses on the lives, languages, experiences, cultural production, and representations of and by Jews in and from Latin America and the Caribbean. Our conferences provide a stimulating and collegial environment for presenting research and creating lasting transnational networks among participants. Graduate students working on Latin American and Caribbean Jewish topics are especially encouraged to apply.
Brandeis University - Schusterman Center for Israel Studies: Applications for the 2027 Summer Institute for Israel Studies

The Schusterman Center's Summer Institute for Israel Studies (SIIS) is a one-of-a-kind program dedicated to expanding Israel studies on a global scale. Since 2004, we have prepared 411 professors at 287 institutions in 36 countries on six continents to teach Israel Studies in their respective disciplines. Summer Institute alumni have taught 2,100 courses about Israel to more than 36,000 students worldwide.

The Dahan Center at Bar-Ilan University, in collaboration with the University of Bucharest, Center for Hebrew Studies, invites researchers, educators, and community leaders to submit proposals for an international conference addressing the challenges of identity, education, and resilience facing Jewish communities in Europe today.
In recent decades, Jewish communities across Europe have faced complex challenges related to the strengthening and continuity of Jewish identity, as well as the growing recurrence of antisemitism. Across various regions of Europe, antisemitic incidents have intensified, manifesting in attacks on communal, cultural, and educational institutions. This reality calls for a renewed examination of the roles of education, community, and culture in shaping contemporary Jewish identity.

CFP Turning the Image Around: Anti-Judaism, Antisemitism, Satire, and Cultural Resistance across the Ages

The Department of the Arts and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) invite proposals for an international workshop examining anti-Judaism and antisemitism, their representations and transformations, and the diverse strategies developed to challenge, reappropriate, and resist them from antiquity to the present. They therefore welcome contributions that examine not only the differences between anti-Judaism and antisemitism but also their continuities, ruptures, transformations, and conceptual boundaries. How do medieval religious stereotypes and myths relate to modern antisemitic imagery? When does tracing continuity illuminate the history of anti-Jewish hostility, and when does it obscure historically specific phenomena? How have older motifs been reformulated in response to changing media, audiences, ideologies, and political circumstances?
By bringing together scholars working on different periods, geographical regions, and media, the conference seeks to foster dialogue between historical and contemporary approaches. They particularly welcome contributions that cross conventional chronological boundaries, trace the migration and transformation of motifs across time and media, or investigate the ways in which earlier representational traditions are remembered, forgotten, revived, appropriated, or contested in later contexts.

The Leibniz Institute of European History (IEG) awards fellowships to postdocs conducting research in European history, the history of religion, and other historical disciplines (including Digital Humanities).
The IEG funds research projects on European history from the early modern period to contemporary history. We are particularly interested in projects
- with a comparative or cross-border approach,
- on European history, including its relation to the wider world,
- on topics of intellectual and religious history,
- with digital tools and methods, or
- on environmental history.

Feburar 2027 in der Akademie in Stuttgart-Hohenheim statt und befasst sich mit den von Umbrüchen geprägten Lebensverhältnissen jüdischer Gemeinschaften und Individuen. Die Strategien des Umgangs damit und die wissenschaftlichen Diskurse darüber stehen im Zentrum.

Between Mind and World in Premodern Jewish Life

The Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for its 2027–28 international fellowship program, a year focused the connection between mind and world in premodern Jewish life.
Humanistic inquiry has long been energized by a desire to enmesh texts and ideas into the social, political, and material contexts in which they developed. The study of premodern Jews has likewise been driven by this desire—always on the lookout for new ways to move between the ideational and the real—to better understand texts and ideas as responses to and as shaping forces within a world of social interaction and conflict, materiality and spatiality, and the contingencies of lived experience.
The Katz Center for Advanced Judaic studies seeks to use its 2027–28 fellowship year to support this aspiration to connect premodern Jewish thought and expression to the extra-textual realms of the material and the social, calling for relevant applications from scholars working in any field of premodern Jewish history and culture as these developed throughout the world between the Hellenistic period and the end of the European Middle Ages in the sixteenth century.
